Prince to replace Jay-Z at Glastonbury?
Prince may replace Jay-Z at this year's Glastonbury Festival should rumours prove true that the rapper is set to drop out.
The Sun is reporting that festival organiser Michael Eavis was close to getting Prince to headline the festival in 2004 and that both Kylie Minogue and Coldplay turned down the chance to top the bill at this summer's event.
Rumours surfaced yesterday that Jay-Z was unhappy with organisers for blaming him for a decline in ticket sales. Glastonbury was thought to be the rapper's only UK festival appearance this year but he is now playing the O2 Wireless Festival in London's Hyde Park also.
A source told the newspaper: "Obviously they [the organisers] still hoped it could be sorted out, which they still do. But there will be people who bought tickets for the festival because they wanted to see Jay-Z.
"If the Glastonbury organisers let people do that while knowing there were doubts then that seems unfair. When he does announce he is not playing, those people should be entitled to full refunds."
