There seems to be a very specific genre playing over our radio air waves at the moment and call me uncultured or musically challenged but one song just seems to run into the next until my brain is so over flooded with inconsolable ballads that by the time I get home from work I feel like drowning myself in a deep bath of misery.

Television Rooms are a refreshing break from the current monotony!

After hearing quite a few whispers and visiting their 'official My Space' for a sneaky peek I decided to throw a couple of friends together and catch the oddly named band at Craw Daddy in Dublin's city centre on Friday night.

Their twisted genre of Indy pop could be described as what the love child of 'The White Stripes' and 'Oasis' would sound like.
Their memorable hooks, exciting guitar rifts, perfectly timed drum beats and the ever unpredictable melodies of the keyboard and synthesizers leave the band unpredictable yet structured.

Though they were competing with the meteor awards and the crowd seemed somewhat dismal, 'Television Room' played there introductory song with such force it was sure to catch the attention of even the biggest sceptic.

TV Room are tight, they flow together like a chocolate fondue fountain of sweet melodies and catchy lyrics, yet somehow they still manage to maintain a feeling of individuality.
The lead Michael plays guitar so naturally it's almost subconscious. His voice is deep, yet clear sounding more mature then his years, unwavering throughout the entirety of their set.
Scantily clad Grace on keys/Synth was full of energy which oozed off the stage into the crowed making it near impossible for you to keep your feet on the ground.
James on base added perfectly complementing harmonies and a steady rhythm.
Drummer Mia was absolutely effortless, her precision in timing threatens even the most seasoned drummers, leaving you in shock and awe when you find out she has only been with 'T.V Room' a matter of weeks!
Fifth member Fergus although hiding at the back of the stage almost unseen by the crowd didn't disappoint with his uncanny guitar rifts.
They all fit the unit perfectly, never promising to be anything more then what they are.
'Television Room' make you want to move.
They are fun and quirky and although you don't understand what some of the lyrics mean you find yourself relating them to yourself regardless.
By the end of their show I was jumping around like a five year old at a 'Wiggles' concert begging for an encore!

The stand out songs were 'Tinabelle' and 'Modern boys and Girls' which just happens to be their new single due out 29th February.
'Modern Boys and Girls' has every bit the potential to be the next Irish youth anthem if given the air play.
I give it six months for this band to be noticed, signed and the next BIG thing out of Dublin.
I recommend you catch one of their up and coming shows or at least visit their 'My Space' Page! they're sure not to disappoint.
