Hello All,

First of all I'd like to thank all that turned up to our first night, your support is very much appreciated and will not be without reward in the future? I'd especially like to thank Brian (cozzie) Cosgrove who was the first person to ever pay in to a Venue Promotions gig.

I would also like to thank McKennas bar for accomadating us even though we were a pain in the neck at times, Glen for the sweet sweet sound, Shea for being the best light technician/doorman/runner we could have hoped for, Janette & Co. for flyer distribution, yourmuisclive.tv for filming the gig, my Fiancee Elaine for putting up with me while I was being a 'stress head' and to all who helped out on the night without you it would never have worked out.

As for the bands, you were absolutely amazing. GREENLIGHTS opening the night with such a wide variety of instruments and back beats to provide a cacophony of capitvating sounds which blended together like like 'Bulmers and Ice', we couldn't have picked a better band to open our first night.

Second in the line up was OPEN DOOR POLICY a band who, at first filled people with sceptisism due to their youth, soon saw the crowd cheering for more due to their blasting, bass laden tracks which could lift the roof on the best of Venues.

Trying to sell this idea to people was difficult enough, even more so when you are trying to promote a band that people have never heard of before.

SACCADE's performance, we hope, will change all that. This 4 piece proved that all of our hard work was worth it, watching the response from the people as they blew the roof of The Brewery was all I needed to see to know that we are on the right track. So polished and so tight they shocked the audience by being fantastic.

So did we achieve our aim? Well our aim was to provide the people of Monaghan with live music that they wouldn't get a chance to see without having to travel, so YES I really feel we achieved that!! The bands all went away happy and promise to come back which is something that we strived for.

All in all, despite a few hiccups (it's a learning curve) the night was a success, all I will say is that next time we will have a later starting time and we would love to see a few more bodies so please tell a friend. We will ,you will be glad to hear, be continuing with the Jelly Shots and MC'ing the nights.

All for now and thanks again,

Later,
Adam
