Girls Aloud may be facing another crisis amid reports that Cheryl Cole has begun planning a solo career outside of the group.

British newspaper The Sun claims that Cole has been holding talks with music producer T2, who recently had a chart hit with 'Heartbroken'.

The producer has in the past been linked to a number of female stars, including Kelly Rowland, Kate Nash and Natasha Bedingfield.

A source told The Sun: "Cheryl and T2 have been in discussions about her solo material. He is the man of the moment, with a lot of pop acts clamouring for his expertise on collaborations.

"He told her she would have to hold on a bit longer because he had commitments with Alesha Dixon - which went down like a lead balloon.

"Cheryl is keen to get cracking on new material and didn't want to play second fiddle to anyone else."
